Teofil Vlad is a climber born in Pitesti who, over time, has made the first opening of new alpine routes in the walls of the Carpathians, ascents in emblematic walls in the world (Alps, Yosemite, Patagonia), first Romanian ascents on high mountains or very difficult from a technical point of view (the south wall of the summit of Nanga Parbat 8126m, West Rib route on McKinley 6194m etc. ), the most representative and internationally appreciated being the new routes opened on the south face of the Punori 7165m peak in the Himalayas and in the walls of the Cochamo Valley in Patagonia. He has been declared "Sportsman of the Year" several times and received the title of "Master of Sport". He promotes Romanian mountaineering at events at home and abroad and through articles in international specialist publications and has dedicated part of his time to volunteering - mountain rescuer or mentor for young climbers, dedicating his ascent of Everest 8848m to the association for disabled people Climb Again. Teofil Vlad is a mountain guide and climbing coach.
