The captain/skipper checks the documents, officiates the marriage and issues to the entitled persons a document replacing the Marriage Certificate, until its issue (maximum 14 days) and certifies their marital status in front of third parties (church, institutions, etc.). At this moment the two persons are legally married
The limitations are the same as in the case of Civil Marriage officiated at the Civil Registry Office. In addition, for marriage at sea, the future spouses must have Romanian citizenship.
Upon arrival in the country, in the port of origin, we will take care of all the necessary formalities, and the Local Public Communal Service of Personal Records, through the Civil Status Sector 1, will draw up and issue the marriage certificate.
