The meeting with the guide will take place at 6:30 in the parking lot of the Romanian Military Academy (National Defense University Carol I), departure at 07:00 on the route Bucharest - Ploiesti - Sinaia.
The day starts with a stop at the Sinaia Monastery, located at the foot of the Bucegi massif and founded between 1690-1695 by the spatarii Mihail Cantacuzino. The old church, built in brancovenesc style, preserves until today in the porch and nave the painting realized by Parvu Mutu Zugravul. In the courtyard of the old monastery, built in 1690-1695, there is, next to the chapel from 1792, the tomb of Tache Ionescu, Prime Minister of Romania during the First World War. In the new courtyard of the monastery was erected in 1842-1846 the church dedicated to the Holy Trinity, made of stone and brick by the care of Abbots Loasaf and Paisie.
The route continues to Peles Castle, one of the most famous and beautiful castles in Romania, a place steeped in history and revolutionary at the time, being the first completely electrified castle in Europe. One of the most impressive castles in Romania, Peles attracts hundreds of thousands of tourists every year, being built on the royal domain of Sinaia, in a place with marvelous landscapes, far away from the bustle of the mountain resort. The land for the building was purchased by Prince Charles in 1872 with personal money, after he fell in love with the magnificent mountain scenery.
Then you'll walk along the Poteca Regala, a cobbled alley surrounded by forest for a short tourist route to Poiana Stanii, the perfect place to relax, full of greenery and with a superb view of the Bucegi Mountains, but also of the towns of Busteni, Poiana tapului and Sinaia. For those who dare to climb, don't miss the Franz Joseph Stancile, Pestera Bogdan, Schitul and Stancile Sfintei Ana, which are located near the meadow. A good physical condition is recommended for this route as it involves hiking.
The program ends with the Caraiman Monastery, an imposing Orthodox monastery located at the foot of the massif of the same name. The cross on Caraiman seems to straddle the path leading pilgrims to the monastery. Walking towards the cable car from Busteni, at a certain point, on the left side, a signpost and an icon show the path, with stone slabs in places, leading to the monastery. In the middle of it there is a tree cut by the storm, in which was found the image of the Virgin Mary, a tree in the shape of a huge polycarp. At its top there is a white cross that lights up at dusk, together with the public lighting of Busteni. We leave for Bucharest, where we will arrive in the evening, depending on traffic and weather conditions.
