Description

Are you curious to find out how the rich lived in the old days? This experience will introduce you to the world of the great boyars.

Itinerary:

Meeting with the group escort at 06:30 and departure at 07:00. We will follow the route Bucharest - Potlogi - Stefanesti - Golesti.

Potlogii are an emblem of the Brancovenese style. Born as an artistic phenomenon of synthesis between autochthonous elements and those of both Eastern and Western influence, between tradition and artistic innovation, the Brancovenese style has triumphed over time. In the year 1698, Constantin Brancoveanu built, from the foundations, a royal court in Potlogi, in the center of which the palace is located. The court of Potlogi, which the lord elevated to the status of a dynastic royal court, was built for Constantine, the eldest son and heir presumptive to the throne of the country. The monumental complex, which covers an area of 23,000 square meters, consisted of several elements: the entrance gate, the rooms of the guard, the living quarters of the court servants, the cuhnia, the droscaria, the old manor house and, obviously the most important, the palace. Next to it is the church, also built by the voivode in 1683, when it was a great back. Today, the whole museum is declared a historical monument and some of the buildings in the courtyard have been rebuilt.

A break for lunch follows, then continue the route to Stefanesti, where you visit Domeniul Florica, consisting of a mansion, farm, chapel, wine cellar, wine cellar, train station and even an astronomical observatory, all located in the middle of a vast park, surrounded by vineyards. It is the work of the first two Bratieni, Ion and Ionel, father and son, who - being passionate builders, especially the latter - transformed a cozy administration house of the estate into a sumptuous manor house, where important decisions were made regarding our history. The residence is documented in 1829. Located near the town of Stefanesti, Arges County, the Bratianu family mansion, built in memory of his first daughter, is one of the most beautiful manor houses in Romania, well preserved to this day

The next stop is Golesti Estate, also called Golesti Museum or Golesti Viticulture and Pomiculture Museum, is a building built in the 17th century around which there are many historical sights and gardens where you can walk for a whole day, totaling no less than 14 ha.

The manor was built by Stroe Leurdeanu in 1640 and is surrounded by high brick walls for defense. It is the only fortified medieval secular building in the country and tells many of the stories of the Golescu family, a family in which Enlightenment ideas were born, which built the Royal Palace in Bucharest and reformed education in the Romanian countryside.

After the last stop, you return home, on the Pitesti-Bucuresti route, where you will arrive in the evening, depending on traffic.
