Ikebana workshop in the Victoria Finala showroom in Bucharest

Among the various Japanese arts, tea ceremony, the art of dressing and wearing a kimono, the art of repairing broken objects, calligraphy, the art of bonsai cultivation, etc., there is Ikebana, the art of flower arranging. 

In this workshop, you and your group will learn about the history of Ikebana, watch an Ikebana demonstration and be guided to make your own Ikebana that you can take home. Ikebana may seem difficult, but the beauty of Ikebana is that it allows anyone to express their creativity and imagination anywhere they wish, using conventional and unconventional materials, creating something more impressive than the material used. 

Everything becomes poetic, from touching the vase, the flowers, to admiring the result. This experience will take place in a pleasant setting, a pottery showroom, with Japanese music, tea and cookies.

About the teacher:

Daniela Anca Turdean is the first accredited teacher in Bucharest, of the Sogetsu Ikebana School in Tokyo. She has had exhibitions of Ikebana and Ikebana photography at the Botanical Garden, at the Agronomic Institute, at the Romanian Academy, at the Humanitas Lipscani Library. She teaches Ikebana to students at Ikebana Sogetsu Bucharest, with the passion to pass on the knowledge gained during the years of study and organizes workshops for companies and schools.
