Itinerary:
The meeting with the group escort will take place at 06:30 and departure at 07:00. We will follow the route Bucharest-Buzau-Marasesti-Lepsa.
The first stop will be in Buzau, where you will visit the County Museum, which hosts impressive collections of archaeology, history and art from different periods of time. The foundations of the museum were laid by Basil Iorgulescu, and the development of the collections has led to several stages of expansion. Of particular interest is the collection of 497 opinci and the presentation of Dumitru Dan's fabulous journey around the world. The current building is the third. From 1977 to the present it has been housed in the former Girls' School building. The building, built between 1931 and 1937, is included in the list of historical monuments, being one of the most imposing buildings of the city. You will continue the route to Marasesti, where you will stop to visit the Mausoleum, built on the battlefield of the great battles of 1917. It was inaugurated on September 18, 1938, in the presence of King Charles II and numerous officials. The epic of the great battle of the First World War is represented by a photo-documentary exhibition, military costumes, weapons and armament of the Romanian army of that period, objects that belonged to Ecaterina Teodoroiu and General Eremia Grigorescu.
After the visit, you will have free time for lunch. You will continue the way to Lepsa to visit the monastery, founded in 1774, when a disciple of St. Basil of Poiana Marului built a hermitage. The lives of the monks who lived here are unknown. From the year of its foundation until 1929 there are no documents that tell us how many monks were here and how their life in the heart of the mountains. However, it is believed that Lepsa Monastery would have also functioned as a center for the care of the sick. Continue the trail and you will stop for a few minutes at the Putna Cascade. It is a natural monument and part of the Putna - Vrancea Natural Park.
After the visit, return home on the Buzau-Bucuresti route, where you will arrive in the evening, depending on traffic.
