What is padel and how is it played?
Padel is a racket sport that can be played both indoors and outdoors. Players play on a 10 by 20 metre area with transparent walls and wire mesh fences in places. The two teams are separated by a tennis net and the court is marked with lines and service areas. The walls around the court mean that the ball can bounce in unexpected directions to spice up the game!
Padel uses the same scoring system as tennis. It takes 6 games to win a set, and the team that wins 2 sets wins the game. A game is scored in exactly the same way as in tennis, i.e. 15/0, 30/0, 40/0, advantage, deuce, etc. If a set reaches a 6/6 tie, there is a tie-breaker as in tennis.
A game is started by serving diagonally, as in tennis, with two service attempts allowed (first and second serve). The server must be behind the service line. The receiver can sit anywhere on the court in front of the server. First, the server throws the ball, then hits it below waist level. The ball must bounce into the opposite service area before being hit by the receiver. If the ball does not bounce in the opposite zone, it is a foul. If it bounces into the opposite zone and hits the wire mesh fence before crossing the service line (on the return side), it is also a foul. If the ball hits the net and falls into the court, it is a point. If it hits the wire netting fence before the second bounce, it is a foul.
Once the ball is in play, all balls crossing the net must first touch the playing surface, on the opponent's side, before hitting a wall. Players may volley the ball. Players may hit the ball after it has hit a wall to send it back to the opponent. As in tennis, the ball can only bounce once to your side and can only be hit once. It is possible to hit the ball hard so that it bounces off the court after it has bounced! But the opposing team can run to try to hit it, bringing it back into play. This kind of point is particularly exciting!
Lighting system
The state-of-the-art lighting system contains led lights. Each court is equipped with 12 luminaires, installed according to a luminometric design, so as to ensure constant lighting over the entire playing surface, without shadows. The safety lighting system is made up of luminaires for the stand-by lights (battery with 3-hour battery life) and luminaires for providing the escape flow (battery with 3-hour battery life).
Heating system
Cold weather heating is provided by the most efficient heating system that can be used in such constructions, namely, radiant tube heating system. Among the advantages of this system we mention: the heat flow is directed towards the playing area, thus ensuring a heating of the entire playing surface (there are no areas of thermal discomfort); the feeling of comfort is great, without draughts or the possibility of dust, bacteria or unpleasant odours; the entry into a stabilized operating mode is particularly fast, approx. 15 minutes from the start of the installation, which allows the use of the fields in winter without the need to make reservations "hours" in advance (possibility of "last minute" reservations subject to availability).
Lockers
Each pitch is equipped with 2 changing rooms. Thus, waiting times between matches are non-existent. The capacity of each dressing room is approximately 20 people. The locker rooms have their own toilets, where you have the following facilities: 2 showers, 2 sinks, 1 urinal, 1 toilet, hand dryer, hair dryer. Both locker rooms and bathrooms are equipped with a ventilation system to remove unpleasant odours. The cloakroom building is also equipped with two male and two female toilets for visitors. The building is equipped with its own heating and domestic hot water system.
Terrace
In the premises there is the possibility to consume soft drinks, alcoholic drinks, coffee, snacks.
Parking
The location is provided with approximately 30 parking spaces located on the premises. The parking lot and the alleys are made entirely of pavement. It is also worth mentioning that the location is completely fenced, so there is no danger of your belongings being vandalized or damaged.
